Every Friday, we share a quick roundup of products we actually use and love - whether in the kitchen, at the table, or while shopping. These are the tools and staples that make cooking, serving, and clean-up easier and more enjoyable. For our paid subscribers, we’re excited to bring you a fresh new recipe every week. This Friday’s feature: Strawberry Basil Matcha Refresher

Happy Friday! We covered a lot of ground this week, from how to grill seafood, August seasonal foods, and why we love matcha - all in our Monday newsletter. And then on Wednesday, we shared our thoughts on colostrum supplements and cruciferous veggies.

Today we are wrapping up the week with our favorite kitchen picks, plus sharing a Strawberry Basil Matcha Refresher recipe - a perfect pick-me-up drink for the dog days of summer! Enjoy!

  • Bamboo Matcha Whisk. We both love this classic bamboo whisk for making matcha. You want to move it in a zigzag pattern and avoid hitting the delicate tines on the bottom of the bowl for best results. - Dr. Weil and Diana

  • Grilling Skewer Set. We use these for skewering items that tend to fall through when grilling: vegetables, shrimp, etc. Easy to clean, too. - Dr. Weil and Diana

  • Stainless Steel Steamer. A steamer like this is perfect for cooking in-season vegetables; steaming can retain more nutrients than boiling. - Dr. Weil and Diana

We’d love to hear from you!

Strawberry Basil Matcha Refresher

If you’ve been wanting to try matcha, but don’t quite know what to do with it, give this strawberry matcha refresher a go. It makes for a great mocktail! The strawberry-basil simple syrup is perfect for summer and smooths out the taste of the earthy matcha. Note that matcha does contain caffeine, so this is best enjoyed early afternoon. To switch this up, try using mint instead of basil or any berry you love instead of strawberry!
