Every Friday, we share a quick roundup of products we actually use and love - whether in the kitchen, at the table, or while shopping. These are the tools and staples that make cooking, serving, and clean-up easier and more enjoyable. For our paid subscribers, we’re excited to bring you a fresh new recipe every week. This Friday’s feature: A Summer Smoothie

Happy Friday! This week we took a look at dark, leafy greens - why they are healthy, how to use and store them, and more, including how to boil eggs! It’s all in our Monday newsletter. On Wednesday, we took a look at oxalates and discussed who should be cautious about ingesting them, as well as a deep dive into cilantro. Love it or hate it, it’s a healthy, anti-inflammatory herb to add to your diet!

Today, we are offering up three picks, as well as a recipe for a healthy, Anti-Inflammatory Summer Smoothie. Easy to make and a delicious way to add some extra nutrients (and fiber) to your day! Enjoy!

  • Amara Organic Smoothie Melts. For Elio, I love these organic smoothie melts for when we’re on the go. - Diana

  • The Snak Yard Shiitake Mushroom. We’ve both been loving these dried organic shiitake seasoned mushrooms lately. - Dr. Weil and Diana

  • Naked Protein Powder. If I’m going to add a protein powder, I like the ones from Naked. They have tons of options, including whey, casein, pea, and peanut butter powders. - Diana

Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

This is one of my go-to smoothies. It’s easy to make, simple, and delicious. Plus, it provides a good amount of natural protein and fiber. For a bit more protein, add a scoop of your favorite protein powder. I like using frozen fruits in my smoothies, but you can use fresh if that’s what you have on hand. Just add a handful of ice! Taste first, then add sweetener to your liking. You may find it doesn’t need any at all! You can also make this ahead of time - just pour it into an ice cube tray and pop a few out at a time when you’re ready. Let the smoothie cubes thaw slightly, then blend them quickly in the blender.
